Early Guitars and Vihuela

A network for historic guitars and vihuelas

I hope someone in this forum can help me out. I've read about Antoine de Lhoyer on wikipedia and in the list of known compositions it says

"The dinner of momus", a collection of songs and poems with accompaniament by 2 guitars"

If anyone knows about a library with guitarmusic online please give me the adress. I'd really like to play these songs with my guitarduo.

Hi Lars

That sounds like a fabulous piece. I'll look around and let you know if I find anything. Have you looked in Wikipedia who wrote the article or who added the info about Momus? You know you can look up the history of the article in wikipedia.

Hartelijke groeten, Jelma

Momus is the Greek god of satyre and unfair crfiticism... on a more musical vein, Café Momus is where the second act of La Boheme takes place.  Do you remember Musseta's Waltz?... that's where she sings it.

This makes me think of a the title more like "Dinner at the Momus".

Thanks Jelma. I'll try and look at article again. I wasnt aware of that one can do that

Hartelijke groeten, lars ;-)
