"It was simply an experiment, a test if and what works with Musescore. Nothing 100 percent scientifically accurate. By the way, it is said that there are still players who have difficulties with Italian tablature...."

"Why convert it into French tablature? It just looks odd. The original is not so difficult to read. The tablature programme Fandango is actually quite good for Italian tab with alfabeto."

Mixed Tab for baroque guitar

For some time now I have been looking for a program that can do mixed tablatures for baroque guitar as a new set, and I have just finished a successful attempt (Valdambrini: Gagliarda seconda). I tried to keep the original signs as much as possible. The only exception: I converted the original Italian tablature into a French one. Juan Pablo Pira replied to Rainer Luckhardt's discussion Strange tab-letter in "Tablature de guittarre" de Mr. Dupillé
"I was thinking it could be a trill.  In Spanish tabs you find things like 2% with a 3 underneath the % meaning that you are supposed to trill on frets 2 and 3. Since French tab uses the top line for highest string, it makes sense to use then b…"

"Dear Rainer, Thank you for the speciman page. I didn't at first realise the original had been rewritten in a modern hand and had expected a facsimile edition. Is the source document so very poor as to require the new version? regards Martyn"

Monica Hall replied to Rainer Luckhardt's discussion Strange tab-letter in "Tablature de guittarre" de Mr. Dupillé
"I'm just guessing really but working on the basis that the x with a tab letter is descending appoggiatura or trill starting on the upper note,  the letter with a line through it could be an ascending appoggiatura."
