I beleive you may be wrong Martin. I've seen and opened the book in Banks Music a while back. One volume I think is in complete tab - the other in complete standard notation. I THINK that you get different music in tab/notation so not everything ...

Ah I see now, the missing link really confused me! ;) The problem is that the modern guitar just doesn't have the same resonance or tone (even when tuned to the same). I've tried arranging some baroque guitar music for my classical and often the ...

It's a nice idea but doesn't it have only 4 courses? I'm confused how one would add the extra string(s)...

Hey Rob, not that I know what I'm talking about, but some of the strum patterns sound like early Flaminco, obviously there was some cross-over, and I wonder if a good Flaminco stum DVD would help with some of the learning. I have seen a great Flam...

Jamie, here you can see my Panormo compared to a normal classical -Loriente "Clarita"-and also its back. And Rob, I am very fond of Sor, but I also include Aguado, Giuliano, Mertz, Coste and Carulli in my repertoire, together with a Danish compose...

Well, Harry, I'm glad my videos influenced you in some way. The Panormo copy looks very nice. I think you are happy with your purchases, and I hope you are getting stuck in to the repertoire. Maybe we'll all hear you some day. I do think the baro...

About Me:
I've been playing the lute since the beginning of 2009 and am loving it! I've been composing for the lute too - check out my website to hear and download tablature of them.

I'm joining here because I am strongly intrigued by the Vihuela and Baroque Guitar forms. If you have any advice about how to go about buying one (and a cheapish maker), please leave a comment!

I believe Carlos Gonzales (who made my guitar) can make a student model for approx 1700 - 1800 euros. Another Carlos Gonzales I know may be able to do it for less. I will look for contact information to post...

Cheers

What is "cheapish"? I think I know a maker in Spain who might come in under $2000.00 USD...

Thank you, Jamie.
I'm playing this fantasia on a renaissance lute, but it's composed for the Vihuela.
