Early Guitars and Vihuela

A network for historic guitars and vihuelas

Good day all,

I have a classical guitar student that really wants to learn this piece, but the standard notation version that she has seems to be questionable in several areas. I was wondering if the original tablature (or even ones put into say french tablature)  is available possibly digitally and have her learn from that. I'm seeming to have some difficulty finding it with google searches for book 3 of Los seys libros del delphín. Not sure it it is under copyright anymore but guessing not due to the age.

Seems like only audio recordings are coming up.

Thanks in advance for any insight!

Emil

Thank you so much! This should be perfect. Thanks again!
Nice to hear from you, Emil(io)! In addition to the one MacDougall sent you, there is also a version for the 6 string classical guitar at http://www.classtab.org/narvaez_vol3_no4_cancion_del_emperador.txt

Good luck! you might perhaps know that I have got a beautiful baroque guitar from Tiendas Latinas, I have more or less given up Luciano Faria, who seems to be nothing but a cheat.

Best wishes
Harry
Thanks Harry. Sorry to hear that Luciano is plainly a thief for taking payment in full upon notification of near completion and never delivering for several years after the fact. Hopefully this information is well communicated to the early music community and any potential buyers of his instruments. The lure seems to be the lower price point on his instruments.
I'm actually having a great deal of fun playing this piece myself. If you have any others of his works feel free to point me in that direction. Could be fun to do a quick series of youtube videos of Narvaez on classical guitar. Thanks again for the music.
Thanks again! Those are fantastic.
Thanks. I do appreciate handwritten format. Somehow it makes the connection to the music a little more intimate. As long as it is Spanish or French tablature, I can handle it. Italian on the other hand twists my noodle since I just can't read ahead due to the inversion and obstacle it creates in my brain.
Delcamp.net has a decent version.
