I tried one of those (or should I say, a quite accurate "in the style of" replica) a good many years back and I wasn't very impressed. I found it cumbersome, potentially dangerous (I almost knocked the thing over a number of times adjusting my foot placement) and it didn't allow for natural movement with the guitar. It didn't seem to make enough of a difference to the resonance or volume (although I will admit there was some small dicernible increase in both) for me to want to deal with the irritation I felt. At the time it was quite understandable to me why it never really caught on.

However, I'm open to trying one again should I get the chance. Perhaps I would be treated to an attitude adjustment. I'd also be interested in the experience of others...

What is it like playing with the tripod? I mean physically. But also, does it help increase resonance and volume?
