New book on Louis Panormo and other 19th century London-based guitar makers

In 2012 I submitted my PhD thesis, titled: Guitar Making in Nineteenth-century London: Louis Panormo and his Contemporaries. I have been approached by a publisher who is willing to publish this in the following expected format:

A4 size, hard back, circa 400 pages, containing approximately 300 colour images (depending upon the final copyright permissions obtained). We are aiming for the price of £80 per copy plus shipping if necessary, and in a limited print run.

We anticipate that my book will be ready late 2015/early 2016 if there is a good demand. Therefore, with regard to this, please would you email me at j@theguitarmuseum.com showing your interest, so they can keep your name and contact details for notification upon its release? There will be no obligation and no pre-payment.

U fortunately I haven't got the funding for such a purchase, but it will be on may wishlist...

Please put me on the list, sounds like a great resource, so many color images.

Dear Jan, yes unfortunately it is a lot of money for a book. But even at £80 I am pretty certain it will run at a loss (printing 400 pages in colour). Each copy of my thesis cost me around £200 to produce; that's what you get for being an organologist!
I know, there are a couple of these books on my list. Each year I save up to buy one.

I love your other books though! They are almost falling apart from use...

Yes my personal copies of 'Guitars through the Ages' and 'The century that Shaped the Guitar' have fallen apart too. Today I received AL 122; looking forward to reading your fascinating article. I recently came across the 1880 sale catalogue of the 'Vuillaume' Strad.
