Looking for luthier

Had a beautiful Firth, Hall & Pond parlor guitar (1860) that I had to let go a few years back, and am looking for a luthier who builds something similar.  I added a photo with it included in a group of instruments if you're curious, but it was just a simple 6 string guitar.  It had beautiful tone and early but extremely accurate tuning heads.   I found the Classical repertoire of Sor, etc., was not only fun to play on it, but the music itself was much more interesting than if I'd played it on my modern Classical.  

Anyway, are there any good luthiers for early guitars in America, possibly California, that any of you are aware of?  Am saving for yet another instrument and seeings I liked that style, thought to look into it rather than another lute. 

The neck needed work on after a couple years ownership on the Firth, Hall & Pond, and I was going to have the neck worked on it but the local luthier/conservator, quoted a price I couldn't afford and offered no guarantees the thing would be playable after, so I sold it.   Now of course I miss the instrument and would like to replace it with something similar, though new.

Thanks Rob, Scott sent me a message, and though I'm not sure if I'll go ahead and go in that direction for a new instrument, the notion has intrigued me.  I love my modern Classical, but also know the beauty of the 'classical' repertoire to be enhanced on a period instruments.
