Early Guitars and Vihuela

A network for historic guitars and vihuelas

Isidro de Laporta.

Who knows about him.

I've bought some of his duets. Very nice music. Spanish music from the second half of the 18th century originally writting for two guitars.

It has some elements that point backwards musically and some thats typically spanish. I'm preparing these duets with my duo partner.

If somebody knows of other duets by this composer please let me know

Hi Lars

There is a solo piece by Laporta and some (but not much) background info in the introduction of the following book: 'Antología de Guitarra. I. Piezas de concierto. 1788-1850' published by Musica Hispana ICCMU, Madrid 2008. www.iccmu.es. This book contains a lot of interesting solo music. I must have a recording of Laporta's solo sonata somewhere, I played it in June of this year.
