Thx! I will get one for sure - thanks for recommendation.  I hope I will be able to keep it alive. All will be in luthier hands...
Btw. can you write me please what kind of strings I should buy. Brand?

I would recommend strings by these brands -http://www.damianstrings.com/ or http://www.gamutstrings.com/catalog.html?Vl=30&Tp=2.

I use Damians 6th 5th 4th 3th and 2th and the 1. by Gamut. It stays better in tune.

these historical guitars sound best with gut and no nails. and certainly not steel. good luck with it.

Thanks a lot!

Any normal tension nylon set will work, though I like real gut strings for early guitar, but they are expensive. La Bella makes a real gut "Classical Antique" set as well as an "Early Romantic Guitar" set (nylon/sliver wound), and Aquila makes "Nylgut" strings meant to mimic gut.

Lovely. Thank you very much! Have a great day!

Hi, Adalbert, this is a really nice guitar and you are LUCKY!. As noted, the guitar is currently strung with the "normal" steel string set. Actually, that's how so many precious guitars from 19th century have been destroyed. They have bridge pins which make people believe that they are steel string guitars! You should not try to tune the guitar with these steel strings.

As for the strings, I would start with light tension strings like D'Addario Classic Moderate Tension EJ29 or Savarez 520B (white card), tune to 415Hz or 392Hz, and see if the guitar can withstand higher tension.

Thanks. I will remove them for sure and set new ones. It was so funny, that previous owner though that its like 50-60 years old trash and suddenly as I can read - its not a trash at all. When I saw this guitar I had a feeling that it can be sth really interesting. To be honest I will have to buy a good whisky to give to that man who gave it to me. Seems that it's worth more than he supposed. He wanted to sell it to one person for 50 euros and there was no response... I guess it can be worth a little bit than this price in this situation...

Hi guys!
Now at last I have this lovely guitar in my hands... Its awesome... Just fantastic.
You mentioned about measurements to give you as a detail.
I made a picture with it.

in cm:

long 90

and than 27/7/30 cm

Thanks Adalbert. You have a beautiful treasure. But I think you might mean 17 cm for the waist. 7 cm is a bit unusual ;)

Off course - my mistake! :)))

So, how long is the scale?

61 cm
