Early Guitars and Vihuela

A network for historic guitars and vihuelas

Anonymous most likely Saxon guitar by an unknown maker, late 1800s to early 1900s.

This guitar is being sold as a player's instrument after restoration by Mark Finney in Leicester. Perfect string height and intonation. The guitar has a very nice tone with Aquila Romantic guitar nylgut strings. The restoration involved cleaning the solid spruce soundboard and French polishing, lowering the saddle, replacing the frets and a new ebony fingerboard. The back and sides are painted rosewood lookalike laminate. As i say, it's not being sold as original but as a player's guitar, not a museum piece. Original coffin case with brass fittings including lock and key.

I would prefer pickup, but can ship it (at cost). Payment cash on collection or bank transfer. Please contact me at plookit@gmail if you are interested. Lots more pictures available via email.

Asking price £695
