Italien baroque guitar flat back bracing

Dear Luthiers,

I have a question about bars on Italian flat back baroque guitars. As I understood, french guitars have a thicker back without bars. Whats about the Italian ones? Do they have thick backs too, or are they thinner and with bars? What thikness you give to the back and how many bars?
