...not sure that is a romantic guitar...
Ha Ha! ;-) you are absolutely correct Jelma ... it is not really. Gus is playing a guitar that he can afford right now. It is made here in North America by a small company, La Patrie, that say they based their design on 19th century guitars. The body is quite small and does have some similarities to period guitars. The scale is 65.18 cm, so it is not a 3/4 guitar. The bout is a bit too big of course. But for people wanting to find a high quality entry level guitar that is not too inappropriate for the Romantic ( same time as the Antebellum Period in the USA) then these are ideal. And what is REALLY ideal is the price. These can be purchased for $380 dollars (in July of 2017)!!!
Calling it a Romantic Guitar just sounded better than saying "A guitar with some similarities to a period guitar except it has a truss rod and a bolt-on neck!" Please Forgive! But is does have a very nice sound and Gus (who normally plays lute, baroque guitar, & theorbo) is enjoying learning and studying Romantic Guitar on this affordable entry level "Romantic guitar." :-)
I love your recording though I am not sure that is a romantic guitar :-) Love the banjo too.
