Dear Richard, The latest programme of a Julian Bream lute recital that I have is for 16 October, 1990 at The Medieval Hall, Salisbury, England. His final lute recording seems to have been the one with Peggy Ashcroft on 20-22 September, 1988 (RCA Victor RD87843). In a lecture to the Lute Society, 'Some Reflections on the Old Early Music Racket', Julian Bream commented that he had not played the lute professionally for 'nearly ten years - largely because everyone else was getting better, whilst I was perhaps getting worse; so a regrettable gap was opening up between me and my younger colleagues'. Best wishes, Graham Wade
