I have recently retired from work as a Microbiologist and I have always promised myself that as a retirement present I would have a baroque guitar made by the maker of my first lute, Martin Haycock. I ordered a vaulted back (in yew heart and sap wood) guitar after Sellas, with a decorated inlaid soundboard and chequerboard neck at the end of last year and he is hoping to start making it this month. I consider Martin to be one of the best early instrument makers in the world and I cannot wait until I get the guitar and getting to grips with all the new techniques and repertoire.
December 2018 I have now got my guitar and once Christmas and the new year are over I will settle down to learning the new playing techniques
