Counter clockwise from top is the three main phases of making the Stauffer peghead. 1) Draw design and layout all important features including drilling of holes for tuner shafts. 2) Carve recess for tuning machine and holes for shafts as well as female portion of head to neck joint. 3) the finished peghead before gluing to neck [just to right edge of photo] and before ebonizing.
