The fingerboard is indeed flush with the soundboard and it is a very common trend in 19th century guitars.

The fingerboard is a thin layer of hardwood glued to the neck and then inlaid into the soundboard.

There is a wooden reinforcement (usually made of coniferous wood about 3mm. high) on the inside, to prevent the top from cracking.

nice job! It looks as if the fingerboard is flush with the soundboard on these guitars, if so, how is this done (if it isn't a trade secret ;o)?
