A network for historic guitars and vihuelas
This is a rather murky photo of a wood carving in the "Wingfield Room" at Christchurch Mansions, an early 16th century stately home in Ipswich, Suffolk. It shows King David playing either a gittern or a lute. There are actually three naked ladies dancing. These may represent the Triumph of
David, Bathsheba and her maidens, or the story of the Shunammite.
