I'm an animator and half time Luthier, working in Israel, Olive wood is unstable for a loog time and crack a lot so I dont use it, I use Cedar for bracing and tops, Acacia for back and sides, and some pear for Ouds.

are you a full time Luthier? Any indigenous exotic woods that you have tried? I always wondered about olive wood? Acacia wood?...how about the Cedars of Lebanon. any of those still standing?
