In the days when I billed myself as a musician I played the classical guitar and the Renaissance lute, with more love than talent, I fear. Realising I would not have the career I wanted, I turned to another passion, the pipe organ and apprenticed myself to the Swiss-Canadian organbuilder, Hellmuth Wolff. I devoted the next 37 years to organbuilding, full time; the last ten in my own workshop. Now semi-retired, I find myself returning to the love of my youth. Perhaps I will build a few more instruments yet.
