Early Guitars and Vihuela

A network for historic guitars and vihuelas

Hi, this is my first post. I've just added photos of what seems to be a Joseph Panormo guitar. From what I've read, the address on the label suggests a date in the late 1820s.

The bridge is not original (covers damage caused by a bodged replacement - it had steel strings when I inherited it from my wife's uncle).

It has five fan braces and a simple pegbox with what look like original pegs.
If it's of interest, I'll add more photos. Thanks for looking!

Hello Tarquin,

Ian Watchorn again - I just sent you a note. I have restored a very similar Joseph P of 1827.

Attached is a photo of the label and belly with original bridge. Do you still have this guitar?

Look forward to hearing back and hopefully sharing details.

Best wishes,

Ian
