John M. Ward Passes Away.

For all you vihuela lovers, I'm sorry to inform you that John M. Ward, the father of vihuela and lute research, has passed away in a Boston, Mass. USA hospital.

 

His Phd dis." The 'Vihuela de mano' and its Music" was my very first book on early music that I purchased as a university student in the early 1970's and sparked my life long facination with the vihuela, lute and early guitar. Even though I never met him, his work was always an inspiration to me. We are all much better off for having had him spend a little time in our era. RIP Sir.
