cannon upload profile photo
Hi, I just joined the forum and can't upload a profile photo. I keep getting a message to try another photo. I have tried several, all small. An example-366kb jpg. . Any help?

Hello Robert, are you uploading it from your computer? Have you tried a smaller image? Does the file name contains spaces or unusual characters?

Yes, I have tried smaller images. Yes I am uploading from my computer. The forum says there is a limit of ten megabytes and my selected photo is only about 375 kilobytes. The file name of the picture I wish to upload is RobertLong0001.jpg

375Kb is still awfully large for a profile picture. Reduce it to something like 20 Kb or under. My guess is that the 10Mb limit refers to something other than an avatar.

Hi Robert, I just uploaded the image 'La Duchesse Abrantes et le General Junot' as a test, its size is 57 KB, without problem. I can try to change my avatar image, I'll let you know the results.

Also, I changed my profile picture to a 750 kb jpeg, again without problems...

Thank you Jelma and Michael. I will try and resize a photo. Yes it makes sense that the 10 megabyte limit does not apply to one photo.
