Hi Ian, what is the experimental bit exactly -- or should I have noticed? :-) Do they have thick-ish soundboards? And what was the effect?

I think I have photos of the labels of the Roudhloff, but not of the barring. I can make a sketch or something if you like. Maybe you can send me a private message with your email address, and I will send you what I have.

Hi Jelma,

Thanks for that - it has been an interesting experiment, proposed originally by John Griffiths. The barring and soundboard thicknessing are very interesting to explore and I am looking forward to doing some more of them. By the way - I have been researching the Roudhloff family and noticed that you have an X-braced Roudhloff. I would be very interested to know the details of the label or labels in your guitar - to see where it fits into the development of the "melophonic guitar". Have you any photos of the barring of your guitar?

Thanks & best wishes,

Ian
