Early Guitars and Vihuela

A network for historic guitars and vihuelas

Hello all,

I came across a 1838 Louis Panormo guitar having 8 bars instead of the usual 7.

Has anyone else seen this in a Panormo guitar ?

Kind regards,

yes, George Lewis Panormo favoured 8, and it could have been one he made while working for his Uncle. five and two halves, seven and a half too. There is nothing ‘usual’ about seven.

Thank you James and best wishes for 2018 !
