Gavotte by Francesco Molino for Romantic Guitar

A charming Gavotte in rondeau form by Francesco Molino (1768-1847). Certainly has chords and effects not found in lute music! Performed by Daniel Shoskes on a Romantic Guitar built by Scot Tremblay.

Nice work, Daniel!   And a fine sounding guitar as well.

Thanks very much. I was suspicious of the standalone Gavotte designation

Nice!

This is an 'Allegretto non Troppo' from Molino's Opus 27, published 1823 by Meissonnier jeune. The title 'Gavotte' is only found with an early 20th-century edition in the Freie Vereinigung, found in the digital Boije collection. It has some slight variant readings compared with the original 1823 edition, and it remains to be seen whether the title 'Gavotte' is really by Molino. He sure has written no other piece with that name.
