Try designing your own model. I guess the first and most important factor is to decide on the string length. From that decide where or which fret the Neck/Body joint falls. That in turn will also determine the bridge position. The rest is just coming up with a suitable shape/proportions for the bouts and the soundhole position and it's size.
Just draw it out and aim for. . . whatever pleases the eye. Rub it out, amend until you are happy. i'm sure there are plenty of images on the net to base it on.
Thank you I had already seen the drawings on the Lute Society site and concluded that they were not going to be of much help.I'm beginning to realise that it's probably"open season"as far as vihuela design is concerned!
The lute society (UK) sells drawings of two vihuelas, which look to be quite detailed (although they are drawings of the instrument as it is, rather than drawings for making an instrument). http://www.lutesociety.org/pages/catalogue#ma
