by Martin McDowell a different version of the Volt, made from memory of the piece as a guitar rendition of a version for lute (by Mr. Anon...and certainly not by Vincenzo Galilei!). I then looked at the guitar version and realised that apart from any other digressing, I'd made it a bit topsy turvy... so I then put the proper accompaniment note sequence for the opening 4 bars... and you can't have an uke version without one or two strums... it's a sort of tune you can never forget, even if you can't remember it correctly...

by Martin McDowell This could be an obvious fingering to everyone else for all I know, but it sure took me a long time to arrive at. Trying to work out fingerings for Sor can often be quite a puzzle - this solution would probably come easily to any keyboard players - one day I happened to be reading a treatise on keyboard technique... (I don't actually play keyboard at all), and it suddenly dawned on me. I think it's rather unusual for the guitar - I've never noticed a need for this type of changing fingers on one note hold anywhere else in the guitar rep. It's easy enough with a bit of practice.

by Martin McDowell Back to 4course... whoops - 1or2mm slightly skewed (true to my usual style) but adjustment of frets should fix any out of tuning... or I can re-shape the bridge edge in situ.... no touch up varnishing until I'm sure it's all a success.
