Val, Thanks for the information. That helps me put it into perspective. Your French guitar is very impressive. It reminds me much of the Mirecourt guitars. I'm hoping to find one like it at a reasonable price one day! B.

Not french before 1850... more 1900' german made (even at that time they copy the head with wooden pegs of older guitars). But fretboard is clearly 1900' and bridge too. I have an austrian from this period very similar, and an french one older, very different ;-)

Juan, Thank you for commenting. This guitar has no label, and I bought it in Germany. It may be a bit older than the Martin parlor guitars with which I am familiar. Please see the headstock photo. I could be very wrong, but my guess is that it may be French school before 1850. Please correct me if my guess is off. The one sure thing is that it will need a lot of work, thus the given title "money hole."! Bryan
