I am a performer (especially with my wife, Maggi-- a soprano) specializing in 19th and 20th century American music --though I do play earlier and more recent music as well.
I play guitar, minstrel and other early banjos, mandolin, mandocello, Renaissance lute, cittern, and English guitar.
I am a professor in the music theory department of the Boston Conservatory.
I don't know Jim. I believe it is possible to hear programmes previously broadcast provided you have some software downloadable from BBC. I haven't much spare time for investigations of this kind and I don't listen to my own broadcasts. It is a bit like reading your own letters. I will see if I can find a recording.
I know 'Time Team' broadcast repeats frequently and Channel 4 should be able to tell you when they are scheduled. The programme about the lyre was called 'The King of Bling'; daft title.
Other progs you might like are 'Music's missing link' and 'An Organistrum for Santiago'.
Cheers,
Z
