With the exchange rate what it is domestically built theorbos are very much in demand among young students. That should be easy to sell and no one can afford to order from abroad these days. That should be good for the progress of domestic building.
I always re-cut the nut spacing one instruments, both for myself and in various arrangements for students of widely differing sizes and repertoires. Make it your own.
Boone is lovely although the last time I was there it was in a snowstorm on the first days of Spring some years ago. My former student Dan Swenberg often goes up there for vacation to a cabin owned by his parents, I think. Have you ever been in touch with Gary Boye, who is, I think at the State University there?
