About me:
Born in 1965, in Buenos Aires, Argentina
He studied with Graciela Pomponio, Dolores Costoyas and Víctor Villadangos in Buenos Aires, where he obtained his Diploma in classical guitar. In 1994, he gained interest in early music, specializing on lute, theorbo, baroque guitar and thorough bass.
He studied this instruments with Eduardo Egüez, Dolores Costoyas, and Hopkinson Smith.
He has been playing theorbo, baroque guitar and lute with leading groups of Argentina, Uruguay and France as Ensemble Louis Berger (Latin American Baroque), Ensemble Elyma (Latin American and early Italian Baroque), Ensamble Sine Nomine (XVII Century Music with singers), De Profundis (choir from Uruguay), among others.
In 2000 he founded La Rosa Púrpura del Plata, devoted to Latin American Baroque music. In 2004, he founded “L’Accademia dei Filomusi” with Ana Paula Segurola, in Montevideo (Uruguay), and performed programs devoted to Latin American Baroque, and Early Italian Baroque.
Even as a soloist or as a continuo player, he has performed in concerts and recorded C.D.'s in Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Bolivia, Italy, Germany, Holland, England, Switzerland and France (including 4 CD’s with Ensemble Elyma, 1 with Ensamble Louis Berger and 1 with La rosa púrpura del Plata) . He teaches classical guitar in Conservatorio Provincial Juan José Castro (Buenos Aires), and gives private lessons of lutes, baroque guitar, vihuela , theorbo and thorough bass. He is regular professor for graduate courses in Universidad de la República (Uruguay).
