Hi Davide, and welcome to the site. I used to live in Vicenza for a short while. I was studying guitar with Stefano Grondona. While I was there I accidently cut the tip off of my middle finger, left hand, when I was cutting bread. I was told I would never play again, but after a year the feeling came back. In the meantime I had started doing research and got excited by lute music, especially the Scottish repertoire. When my finger was working again I bought a lute, and have never looked back. You never know what is around the corner.

It would be nice to hear a soundfile of your medieval lute sometime. I have one on this page:

    Cheers,
    Rob

Hi Rob, thanks for your email.
How long ago were you in Vicenza? have you met Terrel Stone there? I'm happy your finger is ok now, you play very well ! have you been in Italy again after that terrible accident?
I 've been listening to your Sanz and De Visee pieces and I quite like it.
I've also been playing the scottish baroque lute repertoire ( Balcarres lute book) some years ago I would to learn more about it and listen to it played by a scottish player. I don't think I have medieval solo lute recordings, I have to check.
    best wishes, Davide

    Hi Davide,
I was only in Vicenza for three months about 15 years ago. Never met Terrel Stone - wish I had.
Yes, Balcarres has some beautiful music. I have recorded two cds of Scottish lute music, details on my website: www.rmguitar.info

Merci pour l'information. I'd be glad to hear them once, who knows, when I come to Venezia...
