Early Guitars and Vihuela

A network for historic guitars and vihuelas

A few photos of a Luis Panormo 1836 Replica which will soon be making music. Although not yet finished I thought some might like to see the inner workings of the almost modern approach (meaning present day) Panormo took to guitar building. It's only one small step from here to Torres. The original has a fine one piece spruce top which Panormo occassionally used and I endeavor to duplicate given the chance. And his signature Maple head grafted to a spanish cedar neck. The highly Flamed maple used for this head (a little hard to see in the photo) made for some very interesting carving but all is good.
