Early Guitars and Vihuela

A network for historic guitars and vihuelas

Diagnosed early stage in the left hand, but luckily with no apparent function issues and no contracture whatsoever. I've since become aware of how common this condition is especially among those of northern European descent (with a high concentration in Denmark and anywhere else Vikings left their genetic mark).

I wonder if there are any other guitarists in the EGV community who have this? And if so, how long was it before you developed any function issues--if at all--and what treatments, if any, out of those available have you tried?

Well! I'm Danish and I've never heard of this disease before. Maybe my ancestors wasnt vikings :-)

But seriously! what terrible disease for a musician.

All best

Lars

Luckily it doesn't have to end a professional career. Misha Dicter is still playing:
