historical plucked non-guitars

I have opened this site up to historical mandolins, gitterns, machinhos, etc, etc - as long as it was plucked before Torres. I have nothing against Torres guitars, but I believe they are best served by their own network.

I should add 'not citterns and related instruments', because they have their own dedicated ning site. Sorry Doc, I wasn't thinking. I should maybe reserve this site for gut-strung historical plucked instruments?
