Does anybody who lives in or near Orlando, FL have a baroque guitar to loan or rent for a couple of days later this month? I need one just for practicing, so the instrument wouldn't leave my hotel room. The dates I could use it are Friday September 23 and Saturday the 24th. Please reply to rickychitarrone@gmail.com, as I'm unlikely to see any posts on this forum. Thanks! --Richard Stone

Hi Guys,

This is my first post on this site, I've been stalking the forum for a while though :-)

I'm interested in building a guitar based off the Stradivari Sabionari design, but can't seem to find any blueprints online. There are a couple of sites that show the construction, but none with dimensions.

Would any of you be able to help or point me in the right direction please?

Thanks

Hello wood comrades! I'm building my first baroque guitar and I'm somewhat stuck with the parchment rosette. I've bought some parchment but I'm fearing it's not of the apropiate kind or quality because all the back has plenty of soft tissue, and is very rough. I've scraped'em with decent results but the process is messy and the surface is less than ideal for a proper glueing. I'm determined to make a use of it nonetheless.

5-course guitar and clavichord, what to play?tag:earlyguitar.ning.com,2010-06-02:2111060:Topic:166812010-06-02T10:13:20.681ZJelma van Amersfoorthttp://earlyguitar.ning.com/profile/JelmavanAmersfoort
I've been asked to perform with a player of the clavichord, me on a 5-course guitar, gut strings. I'd be interested if anyone has any experience with this combination, and what repertoire did you play?

I was thinking of trying a Merchi guitar duet, but the texture is rather thin for the clavichordist... now what else could we try? Is there any 18th century repertoire for guitar and basso continuo?

We've already established, by playing a basso continuo part together as accompaniment for a flautist, that the sounds blend very well.
